The soil data tables contain soil parameters that are used to model infiltration process for the Subcatchments in the watershed. Infiltration behavior of a Subcatchment mainly depends on soil types in the subwatershed. Commonly, watersheds may consist of only few major/influential soil types. Therefore, rather than defining infiltration parameters for every subwatershed, it may be easier to define infiltration parameters for the major soil types in the watershed. The defined soil types could be associated to the subwatersheds in the drainage system. InfoSWMM allows association of multiple soil types to a subwatershed. Based on the soils coverage of the subwatershed and the infiltration parameters assigned to the soils, InfoSWMM internally calculates the actual infiltration parameters that are used by the model to estimate runoff.
